Assignments to have completed for this week: October 21

  • Continue on your Research Project
    • Collect data, take photos (must post photos by class time)
    • Take notes to help you write your introduction
  • Begin STEM Kit Organization (Have 2 weeks to complete this)
    • Assign roles to each of the partners:
      • Brainstormer: (All group members) Create a space where you can discuss the kit ideas, to be sure you're all on the same page.
      • Kit Item Organizer: List items needed to go into the kit. Organize lists into 1) items provided in the kit, 2) items provided by the teacher and 3) consumables
      • Budget Researcher: Determines where items should be bought (best quality for best price) Do this in excel, organize url's, company names, number of items, cost etc..

  • Putting good lab procedures in place
    • Brainstorm basic biology lab skills students should have AFTER taking biology
    • Design an activity to teach this simple lab skill in a fun and safe way.

  • Continue the third week (last week) of your experiment (All data should be complete by Thursday Oct. 28th).
  • Bring with you (or have online access to) your raw data.
  • Meet in computer lab....stay tuned as to where we will be meeting--Excel, graph making!
  • Read Part 7: in your Research Handbook "After the Experiment is Over"--Be sure to bring your manual to class! We need it!
